Elementary School

In the event that a child is late more than three times in one month, the parent will be notified to make them aware of the situation and an after school detention will be assigned.

SCHOOL SCHEDULE
Our school operates on a 6-DAY SCHEDULE. You child’s classroom teacher will provide you with a schedule that indicates which special area class they have each day. In the event of a school closing, the 6-DAY cycle is not interrupted. To view the schedule for all classes, please click on the attachment at the bottom of this page.

BUILDING ENTRANCE & SECURITY
In an effort to maintain a safe environment for our children we will continue the building entrance security procedures we initiated on March 1, 2007. The only entrance to the building, which will be utilized by the public during school hours, will be the front entrance on Mapleview Road. The rear door entrance, located off the back parking lot will be a morning drop off and an afternoon pick up location for parents/guardians who bring their children to school. This entrance will not be available as an entry point into the school between 8:45 AM and 3:00 PM. All access to the building during these hours will occur at the Elementary School main entrance on Mapleview Road.

CHANGES IN YOUR CHILD’S ROUTINE
If your child’s daily schedule is changed i.e. walking home, riding home with a different person, or visiting a friend before going home, parents must inform school with a written, dated note. Please help us to assure the safety of your child. We shall be happy to honor your requests, just let us know by note. If time is of importance or an emergency arises, then call us.

EARLY DISMISSAL
Should it be necessary for your child to be excused from school early, please make a written request for early dismissal. Students will be dismissed early ONLY FROM THE MAIN OFFICE. Parents must come to the office to call for the child. Photo identification is required when picking up a child from school.

SCHOOL AND BUS RULES
Parents, teachers and staff share the responsibility of creating a safe and caring school environment. Parents are provided with a copy of the school rules and bus rules so that they understand the expectations that we have for their children. The fair and consistent implementation of these rules and consequences for not following them is necessary to ensure that all children are able to learn and succeed at Cleveland Hill Elementary.
